Julie E. Bates | Shareholder
Julie dedicates her practice to adoption law, representing clients in everything from standard stepparent adoptions to international adoptions. As an Adjunct Professor at the University of Oklahoma College of Law, she taught classes in Adoption Law and in Civil Pretrial Litigation. For 10 years, she also taught in the law school’s “Graduate School of Trial Advocacy,” a skills refresher course for attorneys. Julie has testified before the Oklahoma Adoption Task Force and as an expert witness in adoption cases. She co-authored a chapter in Matthew-Bender’s three-volume treatise Personal Injury Defense Litigation Techniques and has authored and co-authored articles in other publications.
In addition to her law practice, Julie devotes a great deal of time to professional and charitable organizations. She is the Co-founder, former Administrator (1995-2006), and Master Emeritus of the Ruth Bader Ginsburg American Inn of Court, which was selected by the national American Inns of Court Foundation as the recipient of the 2006 Model of Excellence Award. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence.
